Aromatherapy at Home

Everyone wants their guests to feel welcome in their home. Aromatherapy a is great way of greeting your guests with a soothing atmosphere. With a few drops of Aromatherapy oils, you can bring ambience, warmth, and comfort to any home.

Here are some tips on how to use Aromatherapy around the home. These tips are sure to make your home a soothing atmosphere for your family and guests.

1. By combining water and a few drops of essential oil to a spray bottle, you can freshen curtains, garments, couches, and any linens in your home.

2. The very same spray bottle can be used as an air freshener. Spray a fine mist directly into the air, on carpets, or anywhere your pets may swell on a regular basis. It’s important that you do not spray wood, silks, or velvet.

3. Aromatherapy oils can be used on cotton balls (which can be hidden) in dresser drawers and closets to repel pesky moths.

4. Moisten several cotton balls with oil and place them behind the radiators in your home. You will have a very soft pleasant aroma in your home throughout the winter months.

5. Apply a drop of essential oil to a cool light bulb in the home. Once the light bulb heats, fragrance will fill the room.

6. For a room that’s highly concentrated with cigarette smoke and/or pet odors, open windows to hair the room out for one hour. Next, you’ll wish to moisten cotton balls with the oils and disperse them discreetly throughout the room. They should be out-of-the-way, as in cupboards, drawers, or corners of the room. It’s important to note that Aromatherapy oils coincide with cleansing the area, not masking the odor.

7. Hallways, which are often over-looked are one of the most important rooms in your house. This is where your guests are greeted. Your hallway gives your guests their first impressions of your home. Scents like Lavender and Geranium are very calm and soothing. Spraying a mist of your oils (combined with water in a spray bottle) in the hallway will make your guests feel welcome and comfortable immediately.

8. Some Aromatherapy oils can actually be handy in case if accidents or injuries. Every family should have a bottle of tea tree oil in their first aid kit. Tea tree oil can be used to soothe cuts, burns, and even treat head-lice!
